Ahh yes cable. One of the more popular names in the X universe of Marvel comics. The son of Scott Summers aka Cyclops and Jean Grays clone Madelyn Pryor. Infected with the techno organic virus as an infant by Apocalypse and sent to the future to be saved.
The Figure
This figure is a testament to the edgy awesomeness of the 90s. Gigantic shoulder pads and pouches....oh god so many pouches, courtesy of Rob Liefield, the artist that created him. It's Big, bulky and well its big and bulky. Details are very good, his vest/shoulder pads, pants, belt, hair and his neck cushion? are well painted. Cable's left eye even has an effect part built in to signify his awesome mental powers are activated and holding back the techno virus in his body. Or its just a glowing eye, you decide. His head portrait is very well detailed with a determined purposeful "I will rip your head off and shoot plasma down your neck" expression on his face. I just can't stop gushing over this figure. As far as paint details and well that 90s-ness of it all. I love it, this was my era after all.
Accessories
The BFG can be stored on his back via a peg. The one gun that doesn't have storage on the figure itself is the shotgun. All 3 guns fit well in his hand. Sadly though the guns are not painted in any way. They have nice molded details just not painted.
Articulation
Articulation on Cable is actually pretty decent. As per standard Marvel Legends fare it has, shoulder movement, double jointed knees and elbows, ball joint neck, waist twist, ab crunch, wrist swivel, thigh swivel, bicep swivel, calf swivel and ankle pivot. The calf swivel especially helps with extra stability.
Conclusion
I really love this figure. Its the 90s Xmen design from a comic I love so much in my youth. If only it came with effect parts for the guns and extra hands so he can dual wield his guns or be used for more dynamic posing. I give it 9.5/10
