Stan "The Man" Lee, one of the big 3 that were responsible in creating what would become Marvel comics as we know it. A man whose influence on pop culture that cannot be denied. And today I happen to acquire an action figure of the man.
The Box
Before we get on to the figure, let's go check out the box. It's a special box just for Stan.
First you get the full view of the figure itself and the accesories it comes with from the front window with signature emblazoned on it. On either side is Stan's fave word "EXCELSIOR" and on the back is another product shot of Stan. This is of course based on his appearance in the Avengers movie.
The Figure
The figure is your standard ML male figure at about 6.5 inches tall. Wearing a dark blue jacket, beige shirt and grey pants. With really nice looking shoes. No paint splotches as far as I can tell. I've never had any ML figure with a civilian body so from my perspective it does what it needs to do.
The likeness here is good, very good. The Photo real tech that Hasbro used to make this head is amazing and has improved leap and bounds since its inception. One look at the head and its unmistakably Stan Lee. From the smile, the hair and his Iconic moustache. The gold on his glassed are also spot on. And you can actually see his eyes behind the lenses. The paint on his hair is also nicely done.
Accessories
Stan comes with 2 accessories. A folded chest board and a Captain Americ shield with signature on it (Nice touch really).
But hey this is Stan Lee, one of the creators of Marvel. So lets have some fun, Stan having fun with his creations.
You can recreate comic covers that Stan was on, like how I tried with Spider Man, do head swaps and get Stan Supreme on Dr. Strange's body (yeah yeah, I'll get to reviewing him soon).
Conclusion
While this isn't an in comic character per se, Stan is one of the Big 3 responsible for creating the marvel universe (the other 2 being Jack Kirby & Steve Ditko). Is it a must have? Not necessarily, but a chance to own a miniature Iconic person like Stan and if you're a marvel fan, its worth it to have it in your collection. Stan doesn't go for too much and you can get it for retail or slightly above it. Some shops online sell him for below retail even. I give it an 8.5/10
