RAZER SEIREN CONDENSER MIC REVIEW
Last post, I reviewed the Marvo Scorpion Mic03 . Now for an entry level mic going at RM159, it does
a very good job and has pretty good sound quality. But today we are going to go
a few levels higher with the Razer Seiren. Retailing at 180 dollars (700+ MYR)
when it was released back in 2015. The Seiren was pretty much the best of the
best for USB condenser mics back then and still holds its own today.
Now the mic comes with a few modes you can choose from to optimize
recording based on situation. There’s the cardioid, stereo, omni directional
and bi directional. The Seiren is solidly built. The microphone itself is part
plastic with a metal mesh and comes with a very heavy solid metal stand. Now
being several magnitudes higher in price and build quality the sound quality of
the Razer Seiren is noticeably better when compared to the Marvo Scorpion.
Next up I have a comparison of
the audio quality between the 2 mics. Take a listen and judge for yourself.
First one is using the Scorpion and the second clip will use the Seiren:
So in conclusion the Razer is
an exceedingly good USB mic. The price is a bit on the high side but if you can
find it on offer, grab it. It’s good for streaming, music recording, it does
everything well enough and even approaches Professional level equipment levels.
