CHEETOR - The young, naive, eager, reckless and overly enthusiastic member of the Maximal's team. Think Hot Rod from G1. Eventually he did grow into an effective leader. The figure we'll be looking at today is the reissue of the 90s version of the toy.
The Box
The box is a reproduction of the 90s packaging. The are some minor differences but all in all its close to what is was. I'm just not sure about the card stock, feels kinda thin. Not sure of it was like this on the original but I remember the card backs of 90s toys in general being thicker.
Robot Mode
So robot mode is very nice looking and goofy at the same time. I love it :D The details are all there and he's mainly yellow with blue in some parts. The look may not be TV accurate but it does look good even now despite being designed back in the 90s. Poseability is also on par with modern figures. Its only missing wrist twist and ankle pivot which is more common in modern figures. He even has his mutant mask feature, which is missing in modern beast wars figures.
Beast mode
Beast mode for Cheetor doesn't really look like a cheetah as it is too bulky and muscular and not lithe like an actual cheetah. Poseability in this mode is limited, as the only parts that move are the hind legs and the tail but that will expose the gun barrel. His other gun is also visible on his underside and a bit of his head. Front legs are pretty much static, but overall the look works I guess.
Accessories
Cheetor comes with 2 guns. His tail and gut gun. His gut gun comes with a gimmick, its basically a water gun. So dip it in water suck in the water and squirt away. I'm sure this is fun back in the 90s but these days its more of a novelty.
Conclusion
To me personally, these reissues are a welcome one. Not only does it give people a chance who once had them as kids get them again, but also for the people that missed getting it back in the 90s to finally get them now. Granted the engineering and some features are dated but they still work. So whether its nostalgia, your love for vintage things or both. These Beast Wars reissues are good and fun. I have no regrets getting them, and neither will you if you like robots. An 8/10
