MOTU, synonymous with the main character He-Man for the past few decades, has experienced a resurgence of sorts recently. 2 netflix projects and the revival of the toyline. Not 1 not 2 but 3. 2 of those toy lines are tied to the netflix projects while the one I'll be talking about today is the reimagining of the 80s line called "Origins". Basically what this means is the toys designs are inspired by the 80s version but updated with modern engineering. With the tag line "modern posing, retro play". And what I'll be looking at today is one of the most Iconic vehicles from MOTU. The Wind Raider.

The Review

Now before anyone asks, I don't have the vintage version. I didn't have vintage anything when it came to he-man growing up, all I could do was drool at my cousins and friends that have He-man toys. The He-man figure in this review is actually my actual first he-man. But we're not talking about him today. He\s just there to sit in the Wind Raider and look sexy.

Pictured above is what you get in the box. Assembly is required for the wings and tail of the Wind Raider and also for the flying Stand, where you can plug the wind raider on and pose it in some flying poses

Details on the base are pretty good. There's a skull logo  on the shield in silver and also some kind of computer display with a sticker showing some readout. Its just a bunch of graphs and waves which probably serves as the Wind Raider's maintenance read out or maybe Orko is watching porn there...who knows.

As for the Wind Raider itself it measures 12.72 x 14.17 x 4.61 inches so it si pretty sizeable. It's actually bigger than the vintage version. The wings and tail fin swivel and it also launches a grappling hook from the front. Details are also pretty good on it and mattel has take extra steps to add more details to it making it a bit more detailed than the vintage. From the rivets on the panels to the thruster details at the bottom of the vehicle. The Cockpit also has stickers that show the displays of the console and even the seat is properly textured and colored. And it also has wheels for you to roll it on the ground.

Verdict

At Rm130 ish this is actually a very decently priced vehicle for a 5.5 inch figure.  Good details, good playability, the stand is definitely a welcome addition.  I give the Wind Raider a 9/10.
