Lego Mini Figures Series 7

Curiosity got the better of me when I saw these little guys. I bought 1 packet after looking at the picture of the figure in the Space Armor, hoping to get that particular figure. Unfortunately what I got was this guy:

A tree huggin' hippie. OOh and look he even has a bouquet of flowers to show how much he loves nature and all that useless emo stuff. Suffice to say I was not pleased :(

So somewhere down the line I decided to go and try again And this time I bought 2 packets since they are relatively cheap. Again I was hoping I would get the space guy and maybe the Knight or Aztec warrior dude. After a few minutes of pathetically trying to "feel" the parts inside the packets to see if I got the right figure I went and paid for it.

When I got home I opened up the first packet and to my utter devastation I got this guy:

An angry looking tennis player. And judging from what I know about tennis this figure must've been based on either John Mcenroe or Boris Becker since these 2 are the angriest tennis players I know. Though judging from the hair I bet it's Becker at one point in his life.

And then It came to the last packet that I have, If I didn't get the space guy in this last one I will just give up. So I cut it open and this is who I got:

YES I finally got the space guy and he seriously is cool!!! Though it has always bothered me that lego guys have that peg on their head when they don't have either a head gear or hair piece to cover it. So guess what?

I swapped the hair pieces so now I have the option to either have hippie Space guy or blonde Space guy.

Overall very nice inexpensive figures :D

Modern Mumm Ra : Thundercats 2011

"Ancient Spirits of Evil, transform this decayed form to Mumm-Ra the Everliving!"

That is how the chant would go when MUMM RA, the arch nemesis of Lion-O and the Thundercats by extension transform into his more powerful form.

Being a child of the 80's I loved the toys from that era and my emotional connection to the characters are stronger than any other cartoon or anime that came after. I never had any Thundercats toys when I was younger so when this new series of toys came out I was super excited!

The paint on MUMM RA is very good. I do not see any paint slops anywhere. The face sculpt is menacing and the overall design is accurate to the new TV show.

The articulation on MUMM RA is very good. It most of the joints that you'd expect from an action figure of this era. From ball jointed shoulders, bicep swivel, wrist swivel, ankle swivel, ball jointed head, waist cut etc. About the only this missing from MUMM RA is an Ab Crunch. Also his "SKIRT/LOIN CLOTH" area was designed in a way so as to enable movement of the hip joints with minor hindrance. Thumbs up to bandai for doing this.

MUMM RA comes with a number of accessories. They Include his gauntlet, a pair of holding things hands, 2 swords of PLUNDARR. One in dagger form and one fully extended/transformed.  I must say I like the inclusion of extra accessories like these and also the inclusion of extra hands. Although toy lines such as the Figuarts, Monsterarts, Figma, revoltech etc from BANDAI JAPAN still dominates this category, I am happy to see that western action figures are starting to follow suit. It not only adds playability but also adds more value to the figure.

About the only issue I have with with the accessory is from the fully extended version of the sword of PLUNDARR. Since it is made with very soft gummy plastic it can and will droop after a while. Not sure why they did this but hey what can ya do right?

I am totally loving this figure, it may not be classic MUMM RA, but its still a very good action figure and highly recommended. The soft droopy sword hurts it a bit but not by much. GET IT NOW!
